On an evening in early spring on Hilton Head Island, the life of 25-year-old Marcol McNair was tragically cut short. On April 2, 2017, McNair and another young man, 20-year-old Quincy King, were fatally shot inside a residence on Muddy Creek Road. The man responsible for their deaths was 30-year-old Malcolm Melton of Wilmington, North Carolina, who was visiting the island with his girlfriend.
