On a Sunday evening in mid-December of 2018, the life of 19-year-old Davontae Grant was tragically cut short in a shooting at the Hilton Head Gardens apartment complex on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire around 9:30 p.m. on December 16th and discovered Grant, a resident of Bluffton, deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds. His death was subsequently ruled a homicide by the Beaufort County Coroner's Office.
