On a Friday night in April 2020, a physical altercation at the Sandalwood Terrace apartments on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, escalated into a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 21-year-old Shamar Anderson. Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of shots fired at the apartment complex around 10 p.m. and discovered Anderson on the floor of an apartment with gunshot wounds.
