Crimes

Between February 2018 and June 2019, Martin committed a series of heinous crimes, targeting women on Detroit's east side. His modus operandi involved luring victims to abandoned houses, where he would assault and murder them. The victims were often found face down, with used condoms nearby, indicating sexual assault. Martin left a distinctive "calling card" by positioning the bodies with one leg up and leaving a sock on each victim. The known victims include:

• Annetta Nelson, 57: Discovered on February 26, 2018, in a vacant house on Winthrop Street. Cause of death: blunt force trauma.
• Nancy Harrison, 52: Found on March 19, 2019, in a vacant house on Coventry Street. Cause of death: blunt force trauma.
• Trevesene Ellis, 55: Discovered on March 24, 2019, in a vacant house on Linnhurst Street. Cause of death: undetermined due to advanced decomposition.
• Tamara Jones, 55: Found on June 5, 2019, in a vacant house on Mack Avenue. Cause of death: undetermined due to advanced decomposition.

Arrest and Conviction

Martin was apprehended on June 7, 2019, at a bus stop on Detroit's east side. Subsequent investigations linked him to the murders through DNA evidence found at the crime scenes. In September 2022, he pleaded guilty to four counts of second-degree murder and two counts of criminal sexual conduct.
