- November 29, 2023: Around 2:30 a.m., a 52-year-old homeless man, whose identity has not been publicly released, was found dead from gunshot wounds on a sidewalk in the Lincoln Heights area.
Investigation and Arrest
Authorities connected the murders through ballistic evidence and surveillance footage. Powell was arrested on November 30, 2023, after Beverly Hills police identified his vehicle using an automated license-plate scanner. A handgun recovered from Powell's vehicle was linked to all four shootings.
