In the late hours of a Friday night in August 2021, tragedy struck in the Shelby Park neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. Don Demartine Ezell, a 64-year-old man, was found inside a crashed car in the 1000 block of South Jackson Street around 11:30 p.m. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders transported Ezell to the University of Louisville Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he died in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 21, 2021. The Jeffe ...
