Early Life and Initial Conviction
Robert Carl Foley, born on September 13, 1956, embarked on a criminal path early in life. His first known homicide occurred on April 17, 1976, in Harlan County, Kentucky, where he was convicted of murder and assault. This initial conviction marked the beginning of a series of violent acts that would span over a decade.The 1989 Quadruple Homicide
On October 8, 1989, Foley committed a brutal quadruple homicide in Laurel County, Kentucky. Believing that one of the victims had reported his illegal activities to his parole officer, Foley fatally shot four individuals at a cabin owned by David Gross. The victims were:- Kimberly Bowersock: Resident of Van Wert, Ohio, and girlfriend of Calvin Reynolds.
- Lillian Contino: Friend of Bowersock, also from Van Wert, Ohio.
- Jerry McMillen: Acquaintance of Bowersock and Contino, accompanied them to Kentucky.
- Calvin Reynolds: Resident of Laurel County, Kentucky, and boyfriend of Bowersock.
The 1991 Double Homicide
On August 17, 1991, Foley murdered two brothers, Rodney and Lynn Vaughn, at his residence in Madison County, Kentucky. An argument escalated, resulting in Foley fatally shooting both men.
