Willie Woods 1995 Piper Technical Center Rampage
Overview
Willie Woods, a city electrician employed by Los Angeles’s General Services Department, carried out a shooting rampage on July 19, 1995, at the C. Edwin Piper Technical Center in downtown Los Angeles. After receiving a negative performance evaluation and fearing termination, he returned with a 19-shot Glock semiautomatic pistol and systematically killed four of his supervisors before being arrested later that same day.
Details of the Crime
Woods, reportedly calm before the attack, argued with one supervisor at around 10 a.m., then left the room and returned with a Glock 9 mm (19-shot) pistol. He went on to kill his supervisors in different locations within the building: two in cubicles, one in a hallway, and another in a separate office. He was arrested minutes later as he attempted to leave the building.
