Gerardo Regalado’s 2010 Hialeah Mass Shooting

Overview

On the night of June 6, 38-year-old Gerardo Regalado carried out a mass shooting centered on the Yoyito Restaurant in Hialeah, Florida. He first shot his 24-year-old wife in the parking lot, then entered the restaurant and opened fire, killing three more women and wounding three others. Regalado fled and was found a few blocks away, dead of an apparent suicide. Police noted he bypassed men and targeted women.

June 6, 2010 (Sunday night) – Hialeah, Florida: The incident began in the parking lot outside Yoyito Restaurant during an argument between Regalado and his wife. He shot her, then went inside and fired at women in the dining area shortly after closing time. Officers later recovered Regalado nearby, deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound; the same weapon had been used at the restaurant.

Perpetrator
