On August 21, 1981, a residence in Indianapolis, Indiana, became the scene of a devastating mass homicide that claimed the life of 54-year-old Black female Mary Alice Kirby. She was visiting the home of her daughter when the tragic events unfolded, marking one of the city's deadliest domestic incidents. The violence occurred amidst a marital estrangement involving Kirby’s daughter and her husband, who had arrived at the property armed and intent on destroying his family.
