On the evening of May 3, 2025, 42-year-old African American woman Sapanna Q. Harris-Williams was fatally shot in the head while seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked near Chadbourne Drive and West St. Clair Street on Indianapolis' west side. Responding officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department found her deceased at the scene. Witnesses reported that a male suspect fled the area on foot.
