Ernestine Griffin, a 73-year-old African American woman, was tragically murdered on July 14, 1987, in her Indianapolis home. The cause of her death was a combination of a knife wound to her chest and a blunt force injury to her head. Griffin's body was discovered by her neighbor, Dr. Seaman, who found her lying on the floor with a butcher knife in her chest. A note with the name and phone number of Howard Allen was found in the kitchen, which led to his arrest later that day.
