On January 27, 2023, at approximately 4 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were dispatched to a residence in the 9500 block of Village Way, near East 96th Street and I-69, in the Geist Landing neighborhood of northeast Indianapolis. Upon arrival, they found 33-year-old Brittany Allen shot inside her home. Medical services pronounced her dead at the scene.
