Breann Leath, a 24-year-old officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, tragically lost her life on April 9, 2020, while responding to a domestic disturbance call. Officer Leath was shot and killed when a suspect inside the apartment opened fire through a closed door, striking both her and a female resident who was in the hallway. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Officer Leath succumbed to her injuries.
