In the summer of 2023, a young woman's life was tragically cut short in Indianapolis. Jordyn Cheyenne Pierce, a 24-year-old White/Caucasian female, was fatally shot on the evening of June 25th. The incident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. in the 500 block of North Tremont Street, a residential area on the city's near-west side. When officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene, they found Jordyn with a gunshot wound.
She was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Marion County Coroner's Office officially identified Jordyn Cheyenne Pierce as the victim the following day. Born on May 2, 1999, her death was a result of gun violence, leaving her family and community to mourn her loss. Homicide detectives immediately began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. For two years, the case remained under investigation as authorities worked to identify a suspect.
After an extensive two-year investigation, a breakthrough was made in the case. On July 10, 2025, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Clayton Bryan of Pendleton, Indiana, identifying him as the suspect in the deadly shooting. At the time the warrant was issued, Bryan was already incarcerated on unrelated charges. He was subsequently served with new charges, including murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, in connection with the death of Jordyn Cheyenne Pierce.
