On a cold December evening in Indianapolis, Indiana, a violent tragedy claimed the life of 27-year-old Black woman Brianna Z. Coleman. On December 4, 2017, police officers were dispatched to the northeast side of the city following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at an apartment complex, they discovered Coleman unresponsive outside the building, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
