In the early hours of January 2, 2014, the life of 16-year-old Tyrell Alford was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on the southeast side of Indianapolis. The incident, which marked the city's first homicide of the new year, occurred just before 1 a.m. on Graydon Street, near Temple Avenue.
