In the autumn of 2015, a tragedy unfolded in Indianapolis that cut short the life of Cristal A. Avilez. The 30-year-old woman was discovered in a vehicle near Washington Park on November 20th, having been fatally shot. Her death was classified as a homicide, prompting an investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Within a couple of months, detectives identified a suspect in the case. An arrest warrant for murder was issued in January 2016 for Juan Zabala.
Authorities described Zabala as a Hispanic male. In the years that followed, law enforcement continued to seek information from the public regarding his whereabouts, indicating that he remained at large. As of the latest available information, the warrant for his arrest was still active.
