Akeem Oliver, a 29-year-old male, found himself entangled in a dangerous web that ultimately led to his death on October 8, 2016, in Gary, Indiana. On that day, Gary police officers responded to a report of gunfire and discovered Oliver inside a vehicle in an alley between Virginia and Carolina Streets. He had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lake County Coroner's Office. Another man, Oliver's brother, was also wounded in the attack.
