In the early afternoon of a cold January day in 2017, the city of Indianapolis recorded its first homicide of the year. The victim was 38-year-old Gillium Levy, a Black male, who was found shot to death in a home in the 1100 block of North Jefferson Avenue. The incident, which unfolded on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, prompted an investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
