Michael Austin Brown, a 20-year-old resident of Valparaiso, Indiana, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident in Gary, Indiana, on October 8, 2017. According to reports, the Lake County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to the scene at Jefferson Street and 24th Avenue around 12:14 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Brown had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Brown was pronounced dead at 12:49 a.m. The coroner's office ruled his death a homicide.
