In the summer of 2020, the life of Tomi E. Curry, a 23-year-old Black / African American male from Gary, Indiana, was tragically cut short. On the evening of July 27, 2020, Curry was fatally shot in the 800 block of Ohio Street in his hometown. His sudden and violent death sent ripples of grief through his family and the wider community.
