In the late hours of March 2, 2016, the body of Randall Knefel, a 43-year-old Caucasian male, was discovered in a car on the 3400 block of Grant Street in Gary, Indiana. Knefel, a resident of Gary, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. The Lake County Coroner's Office was called to the scene and pronounced him dead at 10:20 p.m., officially ruling his death a homicide.
