Randall Knefel, a 43-year-old resident of Gary, Indiana, was found dead on March 2, 2016. His body was discovered inside a car in the 3400 block of Grant Street around 9:50 p.m. Knefel had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, and the Lake County coroner's office pronounced him dead at the scene at 10:20 p.m. The coroner's office determined his death to be a homicide.
