In the early summer of 2018, just weeks after celebrating his graduation from Lawrence North High School, 19-year-old Trevon Bonds was fatally shot in Indianapolis. A promising young man and a running back for his school's football team, he had plans to continue his athletic and academic career at a junior college.
On the evening of Tuesday, June 26, 2018, police were called to a west side apartment complex near 34th Street and Kebil Drive, where they found Trevon Bonds suffering from
gunshot wounds. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His death sent ripples of shock and grief through his community, with friends and teammates remembering him as an energetic and positive person who always had a smile on his face.
