Robert Sanders, aged 44, was found dead on July 30, 2019, in the backyard of a home on the near north side of Indianapolis, Indiana. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call about a "person shot" around 6:45 p.m. in the 3000 block of Capitol Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Sanders with multiple gunshot wounds. The incident was believed to be a targeted attack, and detectives at the scene indicated that neighbors were not in immediate danger.
