In the late evening hours of Wednesday, August 3, 2016, the life of 19-year-old Derryk Johnson was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire in Northwest Washington, D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 600 block of N Street NW just after 10 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
