In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Gary, Indiana, a gathering of several people inside a home in the 5200 block of East 13th Place took a tragic turn. On August 12, 2019, 35-year-old Reginald Hamilton was fatally wounded when a rifle discharged, striking him in the chest. Police were summoned to the residence at 11:04 p.m. by a woman who reported that her boyfriend had been shot. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Mr. Hamilton deceased inside the home.
