Kevin Pruitt, a 27-year-old African American male from Chicago, Illinois, became the victim of a fatal shooting that originated on the Indiana Toll Road near Gary, Indiana. On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, Pruitt was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle driven by his cousin. The journey turned violent when an argument reportedly broke out between Pruitt and the driver while they were in the moving vehicle. During this dispute, the driver produced a firearm and shot Pruitt.
