In the winter of 2022, the life of Ka'Vion Elyi'Jah Cooks, a 21-year-old Black male from Gary, Indiana, was tragically cut short. On January 30th of that year, Cooks became the victim of a violent incident that resulted in his death. Remembered as a young man with a passion for video games and basketball, he had also shown an entrepreneurial spirit with his business, 'ShoeMobile.' At the time of his passing, he was a father to two young sons and was engaged to be married.
