Wallace 'Wally' Broadnax, a 70-year-old retired firefighter and beloved figure in his community, was fatally shot on the morning of June 26, 2021, during an armed robbery at a gas station in Gary, Indiana. The incident occurred as Broadnax was returning to his car. He was a lifelong resident of Gary and a man known for his kindness and dedication to his community.
