Jerode Cursey, a 24-year-old man from Gary, Indiana, was found dead on December 17, 2015. His body was discovered inside a burning van in a garage located in the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Street, just blocks from his home. The Lake County coroner identified Cursey and determined that he had been shot in the head before the van was set on fire. The fire was intentionally set, according to the police.
