In the summer of 2015, the life of 16-year-old Rashaud Lewis was tragically cut short in his hometown of Gary, Indiana. On the evening of Monday, June 22nd, shots rang out in the 2300 block of Harrison Street. Responders found Rashaud with a gunshot wound and transported him to Northlake Methodist Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at 5:21 p.m. The Lake County Coroner's Office officially ruled his death a homicide.
