In the early hours of a Monday morning in Gary, Indiana, the life of 25-year-old Karriem Branch was cut short. On November 25, 2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., police responded to a call of a weapons offense in the 1300 block of West 47th Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered Branch, a Black male, lying unresponsive near the sidewalk of a residence. Emergency medical personnel from the Gary Fire Department were summoned to the scene and pronounced him deceased.
