In the winter of 2023, the life of 24-year-old Jalen Hurd was tragically cut short in Gary, Indiana. On the afternoon of Monday, January 9, 2023, at approximately 12:29 PM, police responded to calls of shots fired in the 400 block of Massachusetts Street. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Hurd in the parking lot of a business, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
