On the morning of August 30, 2023, in Gary, Indiana, five-year-old Edan Oliver-Johnson tragically died from a gunshot wound. The incident occurred around 8 a.m. in the 2400 block of Fillmore Street. A 32-year-old man, who had arrived at the residence after a night out, placed his handgun down and fell asleep, believing he was alone in the home.
