In the midst of a violent New Year's weekend in Gary, Indiana, 33-year-old Damon Crisler, a Black male, tragically lost his life to gun violence on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Remembered by loved ones as a very loving, caring, helpful, funny, and outspoken individual, his death added to a series of homicides that shook the city. Crisler, a former Roosevelt High School student, was a self-employed man who worked within his own neighborhood.
