Sherman Cole, aged 52, passed away on November 15, 2015, in Gary, Indiana. He was a graduate of Martin Luther King Academy, Class of 1982, and had been employed with the Gary Parks Department for 12 years. His death was a result of a gunshot wound to the head, which occurred late on the night of November 14, 2015, at his girlfriend's apartment located in the 500 block of Chase Street. He was pronounced dead shortly after midnight at Methodist Hospitals Northlake campus.
