On a spring evening in Gary, Indiana, tragedy struck the 3600 block of Van Buren Street. Therical Andre Gassion, a 45-year-old man, was just outside of his residence on May 12, 2015, when his life was abruptly cut short. In a violent encounter, Gassion was fatally shot, leaving a community in shock and a family to grapple with a sudden and devastating loss.
