In the early hours of a Thursday morning in Gary, Indiana, the lives of two young men were tragically cut short. On June 26, 2014, 17-year-old Daven James and 23-year-old Darrien Eftes were found shot to death outside an apartment building in the 1600 block of West 5th Avenue. Police responded to a call of shots fired around 1:30 a.m. and discovered the two men unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
