Jemante Thomas, a 28-year-old resident of Chicago, was fatally shot on June 16, 2021, in Gary, Indiana. The incident occurred at approximately 11:29 AM at an apartment complex located on the 4300 block of West 24th Avenue. Gary police officers responded to reports of shots fired and found Thomas lying unresponsive on an easement. Despite attempts to render aid, he showed no signs of life and was pronounced dead at the scene.
