A quiet Saturday in the Dorie Miller housing complex in Gary, Indiana, was shattered on November 11, 2017, by an act of violence that claimed the life of 47-year-old Jerry Fields. A male resident of the community, Fields was found suffering from a gunshot wound that would ultimately prove fatal. The incident cut short the life of a man remembered by family and friends.
