In the winter of 2013 in Gary, Indiana, a young man's life was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence. Terrell Frazier, a 21-year-old male, was fatally shot on January 15, 2013. The incident that led to his death began innocuously enough on the evening of January 14, when he and his friend, 18-year-old Deshalone Williams, were at a gas station and agreed to give a ride to an unknown man.
The ride took a dark turn when the stranger directed them to pull over at Seventh Avenue
and Clark Road. As the man exited the vehicle, he produced a gun and shot both Frazier and Williams in the head before fleeing the scene on foot. Despite their grave injuries, the two young men were transported to Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus by a private vehicle. Terrell Frazier was pronounced dead at 6:40 a.m. the following morning. His death was ruled a homicide.
The investigation into the double homicide led authorities to a suspect identified as Franklin. He was subsequently charged with the murders of both Terrell Frazier and Deshalone Williams, bringing a glimmer of hope for justice to the grieving families and the shocked community.
