Christian Barnes, 21, a Black male from Michigan City, Indiana, was found shot in the alley behind 526 E. Ridge Road in Gary late on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Lake County coroner investigators were dispatched at 10:42 p.m., and he was pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. the same night. A forensic autopsy performed the following day at the Lake County Forensic Center in Crown Point concluded he died from gunshot wounds, and the death was ruled a homicide.
