In the summer of 2019, a domestic situation turned fatal for 54-year-old Kevin Hayden, a Black male, in Gary, Indiana. On the evening of July 11th, police were dispatched to a residence in the 4000 block of West 10th Avenue after receiving a call from Hayden's ex-girlfriend. She reported that a shooting had occurred at the home where Hayden had been staying with her for a few days.
