A 24-year-old man, Darius Deonte Shaquille Mitchell of Gary, Indiana, was found shot to death inside a vehicle on Christmas Day in 2016. Known to his loved ones as 'Newport,' Mitchell was discovered in the driver's seat of a car in the 2200 block of Washington Street in Gary. The cause of his death was determined to be a gunshot wound.
