On December 8, 2020, Xzavier Edwards-Smith, a 23-year-old resident of South Holland, was tragically killed in a shooting incident in Gary, Indiana. The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. when officers responded to a call about a vehicle crash in the 2200 block of Grant Street.
