On August 3, 2020, 59-year-old Damon Lester Frederick was fatally shot on Indianapolis' northwest side. Around 1:30 p.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a report of a gunshot in the 6400 block of Westhaven Drive, near 38th Street and North High School Road. Upon arrival, they found Frederick critically injured from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
