On the morning of April 24, 2022, a violent double homicide occurred in the 4000 block of Stratford Court on the far east side of Indianapolis. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the residential area around 6:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a person shot. The victims were identified as 36-year-old Irene Williams and 41-year-old Black male William Davis. Emergency medical personnel pronounced both individuals dead at the scene. Family members described Williams as a kind and carefree mother of a seven-month-old child, while the community was left shaken by the sudden loss of both lives.
