On September 4, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred on the near east side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 40-year-old Craig Esmon Jacobs. The incident was reported around 1 p.m. in the 30 block of North Gray Street, near its intersection with East Washington Street.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Jacobs suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
