On the evening of September 26, 2020, emergency services in Indianapolis responded to a car crash at the intersection of East 38th Street and North College Avenue. Upon their arrival just after 10:10 p.m., they discovered the driver, 19-year-old Tre'von Sandford, had sustained a gunshot wound. Medics quickly transported the young Black / African American male to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
